About the integrative psychomotor practice

Medical procedures and visual diagnostics in children may be stressful and trauma inducing. These are stressful events not only for the child, but the family as well.

The family unit is going through stress, trauma and tension.

Often it is difficult for the family to explain and prepare the child for the intervention.

The aim of our practice is to facilitate and ease the preparation of the child for the medical intervention, reducing the stress and trauma through integrative psychomotor play.

During visual diagnostics and radiology it is important that the patient remains still. This is very difficult for a child. Because of that they become restless. In a lot of cases the child undergoes incredible stress. Physical and emotional outbursts may occur.

Through our psychomotor sessions in a child friendly and playful environment we try to prepare the child for the procedure it will undergo. Along with the therapist the patient may play out the procedure and prepare the mind and the body and integrate the emotions through the psychomotor play.
In this way, the goal is to prepare not only the child, but to facilitate families and the medical staff responsible for the procedures.

Family Support

As well as supporting the child we aim to provide support for the family and create a network of family groups that can share their experience and be of assistance to each other.
